I have a cunning plan to do this, and it involves finding a sponsor for a video blog to be posted from the conventions. It would cover the experience of the actively participating fan, doing interviews, panel highlights, and also showing the life of a fan between cons, such as the process of making a costume, making a zine, voting in the Hugos, etc.

The idea is to cover all types of sf-related fan gatherings, and that does of course include anime cons! A-Kon is top of my list since it's the oldest anime-specific convention I know of, but would anyone like to put in a vote for one they particularly recommend? Ones in December would be particularly useful...

I'd also want to include HAL-Con, which is an annual bilingual convention held in Japan. It's not just about anime, but, well, gotta have something on the list from Japan.

That could actaully be very interesting if not a little tiring. I can hardly handle a convention every 6 months with the amount of money I end up spending at them. XP

Thanks. It was pretty much nonstop recording and editing and uploading when I did the test runs, but with most cons being 3-4 days, the weekly time investment works out to about the same as a full-time job, most weeks.

I got to a con like once every 2 months. :D

now that i'm moving to Arizona, I find that there's more anime related things to do in the valley than my hometown, so i'm excited to ge started!

As for the conventions, I go to about fifteen a year or so? Not all of them are anime related though.
